Keeping everyone safe is our highest priority

The Handball Foundation is committed to safeguarding children, young people, and adults at risk. We ensure that all our activities are delivered in a safe, supportive environment, and that everyone involved in our programmes is treated with dignity and respect.

Our Safeguarding Commitment

The Handball Foundation takes safeguarding extremely seriously. We are committed to creating a safe environment for all participants, staff, and volunteers. Our safeguarding policies and procedures are aligned with England Handball and Sport England guidelines.

Key Principles

  • The welfare of children and adults at risk is paramount
  • All children and adults at risk have the right to protection from abuse
  • All concerns and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately
  • All staff and volunteers will be recruited safely and subject to appropriate DBS checks

Reporting a Concern

If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child or adult at risk involved in any of our programmes, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately. You can also use the reporting form on this page to submit a concern in writing.

In an emergency, always call 999.

Policies

Our full safeguarding policy is available on request. All coaches and volunteers receive safeguarding training as part of their induction, with regular refresher training provided.
