Where We Work

We are developing handball across Greater Manchester and the North West, working with schools, community settings and local partners to grow participation and strengthen the sport at every level.

Our work focuses on building sustainable handball environments through school delivery, teacher and staff support, player pathways and ongoing competition opportunities. Alongside this, we support the wider handball system through event delivery, officiating and competition organisation, helping to increase access to regular and meaningful participation.

Core Delivery Areas — Trafford, Manchester & Stockport

These are our primary delivery areas, where we have established, ongoing programmes across schools and community settings. In these boroughs, we deliver curriculum PE sessions, enrichment activities, competitions and leadership opportunities, alongside structured pathways into club handball through Trafford Handball Club.

We also provide full competition support, including officiating, refereeing and event organisation, helping to sustain consistent participation and progression within the sport.

Developing Areas & Strategic Support — Oldham, Salford & Lancashire

Oldham has a strong handball heritage, with previous club activity helping to establish early engagement in the sport. We are currently at an early stage of development, delivering handball through school-based activity and re-introducing opportunities for young people to experience the game. Our focus is on rebuilding consistent engagement, supporting school delivery and creating simple pathways into future participation.

In Salford and Lancashire, our work focuses on wider system support — including event delivery, competition organisation and officiating development — helping to strengthen regional capacity for the sport.

Regardless of ability, we intend to support the involvement of all, to ensure everyone can participate at their own level.
