How Trafford HC Adapted During COVID-19

When COVID-19 lockdowns closed sports halls across the country, Trafford Handball Club quickly pivoted to online delivery to keep their community active and connected.

The club’s virtual sessions attracted 20-30 participants per session — more than typical in-person attendance. Parents began joining in alongside their children, broadening the club’s reach and strengthening family engagement with the sport.

The club’s COVID-19 adaptation was recognised by both Greater Manchester Moving and Trafford Council as an example of community resilience and innovation in grassroots sport.
